Alpine Heating and Cooling started as a service company back in 2003, which gives Alpine a technical advantage over other HVAC companies in Skagit County when it comes to Ductless Mini Split maintenance.  Most HVAC companies start as installation companies, then develop the service side because of the need to repair their installations.  Did you know that installs are not as technically demanding as troubleshooting and repair work?  Many installation companies rely on service companies to service their customers.  Not Alpine, we are 100% self-sufficient and service everything we sell.

With ductless HVAC systems, two units work together – one indoors and the other outdoors – to heat or cool your home.  Ductless mini-split systems are some of today’s most advanced forms of heating and air conditioning.

Ductless Mini Split Annual Maintenance Check-up Includes:

Airflow: Your ductless mini-split system requires free airflow to the indoor and outdoor heat-exchange coils.  The air filter inside the mini split wall head unit is removed and cleaned.  The outdoor cabinet is inspected for airflow obstructions.

Cleaning: The coils are deep-cleaned to removed debris and contaminants, and to help prevent mold and mildew growth.  Clean coils are important for efficient heating and cooling.

Refrigerant: The refrigerant lines, coils, and flare connections are inspected for leakage.

Drainage: Clear drainage must be maintained to prevent water leaks and damage.  Drain lines are flushed and treated to clear and inhibit algae and mold growth.

Electrical contacts:  Wiring and contacts are inspected for wear.  Poor wiring and electronics can cause ice to form on the outdoor coil (heating months) and indoor coil (cooling months).

Compression: High-performance ductless mini splits utilize digital inverter-driven compressors, electronic expansion valves, and sophisticated sensors to prepare, regulate and monitor super-heating of high-efficiency refrigerant.  Only a trained and skilled technician should inspect and test these components.

Because of our high level of service and maintenance reputation, Alpine offers the Alpine Peak Maintenance Plan for Ductless Mini Split Systems.  Signing up for our Maintenance Program will help ensure your ductless mini-split system stays quiet and efficient all year round and for many years to come!
